Han's trails are fun.

Ok, it's not Posh. It's not the X-Games style, Riverside jumps you are all use to seeing in the magazines and edits. Nope, it's not even close. There is not even anything really big at Han's house. Aside form the fact that these trails are in So-Cal, they have little in common with anything going down in the west coast trail scene.

But this place is REALLY FUN!

Hans is a surfer. Thats right, surf's up, Bra. A few years ago, Han's and Cody "McGogurt" McKenna were introduced by a mutual surfing aquaintance, and they began to talk about life. Cody mentioned riding trails, and Hans, it just so happened had a few jumps at his house, having recently been taking to trying out jumping on his mountain bike. Living close to Han's house, Cody came over one day to check out the jumps. 2 years later, the dudes are great friends and dig together on an almost daily basis, and so was born, Han's trails.

Today, Han's trails are a winding, downhill, maze of a trail spot. The first half dozen times you ride this place, YOU WILL GET LOST. There are so many lines intersecting each other, that the possibillities for transfers, connections, and confusion are endless.

[Top of the hill, and 3 options already...]

Cody counted the number of jumps and berms recently, and there were over 6,000 obstacles. Ok, I'm bullshitting, but it certainly feels that way on a summer afternoon. A few hours is not enough time to ride all of the trails and just about everything is running solid, so you could easily spend a few days exploring the possible routes down the hill.

The downhill, winding nature of Han's trails, lends towards creative use of lines. Each and everytime I ride this place, somebody does a line that has never been seen before. Berms become lips and landings. Landings become lips, and hips are found, where no jump exsists at all. It's sort of like riding a skatepark, with endless transfers.

Han's trails are private. Trying to get here without permission is literally impossible, so don't even try it. If you are of good nature (not a douchebag) and want to ride this place, then hit up one of the riders you see in these photos. You can ask about riding here and depending on the circumstance, you may get an invite.

[Pick up a shovel]

This post is not about inviting people to this spot though. If you want to ride places like this, I strongly suggest you find a hill and start digging. A couple years of solid digging, and you can have a place like this of your own. So what are you waiting for?

[Till the sun goes down.]

Dig about it.
